Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Dabolim INS Hansa enclave a short while ago to sail on country's largest warship and aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya off the coast of Goa in the Arabian Sea. This is his first visit after assuming office last month.
During his stay on the ship, Mr Modi will witness air power demonstration by various Naval aircraft, including MiG 29K, Sea Harriers and Sea King helicopters. He will also witness high-speed manoeuvres by the Navy's Western Fleet ships including aircraft carrier INS Viraat, Delhi-class destroyers and Talwar-class frigates.
Mr. Modi is also scheduled to address officers and sailors of the Navy. AIR correspondent reports that the 44,500-tonne warship acquired from Russia was commissioned in the Navy in November last year by the then Defence Minister AK Antony.
