Arabian Travel Mart - West Asia region’s largest ever travel gathering gets underway at the World Trade Center in Dubai today. 

The four-day long event brings together the leaders in tourism and hospitality industry from all over the world including India to attract the tourists to and from this part of the world. Tourism professionals including exhibitors and visitors from 157 countries along with 68-country pavilions, are a major attraction at the mega event. Exhibitions at the Arabian travel mart cover luxury, sports, shopping, careers, budget travel, health and wellness, air travel and water-based tourism.

India Pavilion has been set up by the India Tourism at the Arabian Travel Mart. The theme is India as a multi-faceted tourism destination for luxury, wildlife, wellness and health or medical travel. 

It is also aimed at providing a better platform for the Indian travel industry comprised of tour operators, hoteliers, airlines and state governments at the show. In all 28 stalls have been put up at the India Pavilion with Air India and Tea Board finding a prominent place at the event. A high level delegation from the Ministry of tourism is attending the show.

Latest figures from the World Travel and Tourism Council show more than 1 billion tourists footfall globally for 2013 which has contributed to around 9% of the world’s GDP.
